Even though beef breeding doesn’t have that long tradition in Czech agricultural industry, it has become very important part of it in last decades. Czech Republic has the best possible conditions for beef breeding. Not only having the ideal climatic and geographic predispositions, but also the land. There is about 1 mil ha of meadows and pastures, totalling approx. 23% of country’s agricultural land. Today’s breeds include: Aberdeen angus, Belgian Blue, Blonde d‘ Aquitaine, Galloway, Gasconne, Hereford, Highland, Charolais, Limousine, Beef simental, Piemontese, Salers, Aubrac, Parthenaise, Shorthorn, Texas longhorn.


This tour will be a unique opportunity to learn interesting facts about the beef breeding, methods, and technologies used nowadays and to meet farmers and beef breeders to share their experience. As an extra, there will an outstanding chance to explore country’s best cultural and historical heritage sites as Czech Republic is a special place with a great history and culture that attracts tourists from all over the world to enjoy its unrepeatable beauty.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Prague, arrival

  • Arrival at Prague airport
  • Cruise on Vltava river with lunch onboard
  • Guided city tour of the Old Town with Astronomical Clocks and famous 14th century Charles bridge
  • Overnight in Prague


Day 2: Private beef farm, Coop beef farm, Kutna Hora (UNESCO)

  • Private beef farm, specialist in French cattle (Limousine, Gascone, Aubrac, Vosgienne, Bazadaise, Brune)
  • Presentation Czech Beef Breeders Association’s director
  • Lunch at a farm restaurant
  • COOP farm, Beef fettering, specialist in Fleckvieh, Belgian Blue crossing Fleckvieh with Charolais (360 heads)
  • Short visit of Kutna Hora (UNESCO), anoutstanding medieval town
  • Dinner in Brewery restaurant, beer testing
  • Overnight in Prague


Day 3: Private cattle farm, Coop cattle farm

  • Transfer to South Bohemia
  • Private beef breeding farm – breeding bulls (approx 250 heads), only specialized rearing station of this kind in South Bohemia. (Aberdeen Angus, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Gasconne, Hereford, Charolais, Limousine, Brahman, Beef Simental)
  • Lunch 
  • COOP farm, Aberdeen Angus specialist
  • Overnight in Ceske Budejovice


Day 4: Private cattle breeder, Cesky Krumlov (UNESCO), Departure

  • Private farm, Limousine cattle breeder
  • Visit of picturesque townof Cesky Krumlov (UNESCO), famous for its Old town with 300 medieval buildings and castle complex second largest in Czech
  • Transfer to Prague
  • Departure
